Our online training goes live on Friday, November 27. You can buy a course, start right away, and finish on your own time, from any phone, tablet, or computer.
We’re launching with nine courses. They cover food safety, alcohol service, allergens, human trafficking prevention, and harassment and discrimination prevention. Florida teams get state-approved and state-compliant courses. Teams everywhere else get ServSafe Food Manager training plus courses built for states without their own required program.
How it works
Pick your course, check out, and start. Every course works on a phone, tablet, or computer, so your team can train between shifts or at home. When you finish, you get your certificate. Food Manager also includes the ServSafe® Food Manager Exam, taken online with a remote proctor.
Training a whole team? Buy as many seats as you need in one order, and each person gets their own link to start.
Florida courses
Florida runs its own programs for food handlers and for human trafficking prevention, and we offer the state-approved version of each. Our alcohol course is built to Florida’s Responsible Vendor Act.
- Florida Food Handler Training – $15. Florida requires food handler training, and this is a DBPR-approved program (Food Safety First, program #1519600). You get the state-approved Food Safety First certificate when you finish.
- Florida Human Trafficking Prevention Training – $14. DBPR-approved training for public lodging staff, including housekeeping and front desk, under Florida Statute 509.096.
- Florida Responsible Vendor Alcohol Training – $39. DBPR Compliant training that follows the Responsible Vendor Act checklist. Florida has no formal approval process for this training, so “compliant” is the accurate word. Refresher training every four months is included at no extra cost.
Florida also requires at least one certified food protection manager at every DBPR-licensed food service establishment. Our Food Manager Certification Training, listed below, covers that.
Courses for teams across the country
Outside Florida, most of our courses are built for the many states that don’t have their own required program. Food Manager works differently, because the ServSafe Food Manager certification it leads to is the credential most states use for their certified manager rule.
- Food Manager Certification Training – $149. Four hours of training plus the ServSafe® Food Manager Exam, taken online with a remote proctor. A few states and cities run their own manager course or exam, and the product page will tell you if yours is one of them.
- Food Handler Training – $15. The food safety basics every food employee needs, for states with no statewide food handler program. Some counties and cities issue their own card, so check the product page before you buy.
- Alcohol Safety Training – $39. Checking IDs, spotting signs of intoxication, and cutting someone off without starting a scene. Built for states that don’t require a specific alcohol program.
- Human Trafficking Prevention Training – $14. How to recognize the signs of trafficking and what to do next. For states without their own required program.
- Harassment & Discrimination Prevention Training – $15. Clear guidance on what harassment and discrimination look like at work and how to report them. For states without a required course of their own.
- Allergen Awareness Training – $19. The Big 9 allergens, cross-contact, and how to handle a guest’s allergy from order to plate. This is general allergen awareness and is not designed to meet any state or local required allergen training. If your area has one, check with your local health department.
Our courses can be used across most of the country. Here’s how many states each one covers today, counting our Florida versions where Florida has its own program.
| Course | States where you can use it (of 50) |
| Human Trafficking Prevention Training | 47 |
| Food Manager Certification Training | 45 |
| Harassment & Discrimination Prevention Training | 42 |
| Allergen Awareness Training | 41 |
| Food Handler Training | 38 |
| Alcohol Safety Training | 26 |
A state counts when it has no required program for that training, or when its rules don’t call for an approval we lack. Some counties and cities add rules of their own. State counts as of October 30, 2026.
Why our online training is different
Real people teach every course. You won’t hear AI voices or watch a robot read slides at you. Our online courses come from thousands of hours of in-person teaching by instructors who run real classes in Florida.
That classroom time shapes everything in the courses. Our instructors know which topics trip people up and which questions come up in every class. We kept what works and cut the filler, so each course is quick without leaving out anything you need.
Food Manager shows how that plays out. ServSafe’s own online Food Manager course runs eight hours. Ours runs four and prepares you for the same ServSafe® Food Manager Exam, with more practice questions and teaching focused on what the exam covers. A few states require eight hours of manager training, and the state selector on the product page will tell you if yours is one of them. An eight-hour version of our course is coming soon for those states.
A proven track record since 2009? Yes, Chef. We’ve certified more than 15,000 managers, our classroom Food Manager students have a 90%+ first-time pass rate,* and we have 900+ Google reviews.
*CFPM exam first-time pass rate among SIUS-trained Food Manager examinees.
Check your state’s rules before you buy
Every product page has a state selector. Choose your state, and the page tells you whether the course fits where you work. It also tells you when your state runs its own program, when Florida has its own version of a course, or when a course for your state is still coming.
Some counties and cities add rules of their own. Where that happens, the page lets you pick your county to see what applies, and you can skip that step if you’d rather not. Full state requirements pages for every state are coming soon.
