Don’t see your state? Good news – our national Sexual Harassment Prevention Training works for any state without a specific mandate. It covers the core prevention topics addressed by current state and federal guidelines, and the EEOC strongly recommends training for all employers regardless of state requirements.
It depends on your state. California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, and New York mandate training for private employers. Washington requires it for hospitality and other covered industries. Washington, D.C. requires it for tipped-wage employers. Chicago and NYC have their own additional mandates. Even where it’s not required, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) strongly recommends it – and federal courts have ruled that employers without training may lose key legal defenses.
Our standard online training is approximately 60 minutes, self-paced. State requirements vary: California requires 2 hours for supervisors, 1 hour for other employees; New York and Illinois require annual interactive training; Connecticut requires 2 hours for all employees.
Yes. All participants receive a certificate of completion valid for 2 years upon finishing the training. We also provide compliance documentation and training records for audits, inspections, or legal defense purposes. In states with specific retraining intervals (annually in New York and Illinois, every 2 years in California and Delaware), the state requirement takes precedence.
The EEOC recommends regular training for all employees. Our national certificate is valid for 2 years. Where state or local laws apply, requirements range from annually (New York, Illinois, Chicago) to every two years (California, Delaware). Even without mandates, regular refresher training is widely accepted best practice – especially in hospitality, where new team members need to be brought up to speed quickly.
