Under Florida Statute §509.049 , all food employees working in DBPR-licensed establishments who receive, prepare, store, or serve food – or handle food contact surfaces – must complete Food Handler training appropriate to their job duties. New hires must be trained within 60 days of employment, and certificates are valid for three years.
