When I set out to obtain my Food Safety Manager's Certificate and register for a class it was very confusing.  I started out on one website and was redirected to another, and then another.  Finally I reached a person by phone and was transferred yet again.  Eventually I got a hold of a gentleman who frankly scared me half to death.  He made it sound like I was taking the Bar Exam!  He told me that if I did not pass the first time that they would pay only for the second attempt and that I would need at least 2 weeks to study and be prepared.  So, as I was waiting for my materials to arrive I was contacted by Dave from Serve it up Safe and he mentioned that they had a class coming up.  In the meantime, I realized that the date I had scheduled with the other company would not work for me.  I tried to call the company(Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association) and they told me all they could do was move me to a month later.


In an effort to get this training and certificate as soon as possible I was beyond frustrated and started communication again with Dave.  When I ran into issues I contacted the Department of Agriculture to find out that the company that had taken my money and booked my class was not even one they approved!  So by now I was beyond ticked off.  I called the company back and was finally able to get to a supervisor who refunded me only for the class because I had highlighted the first page of the study guide.


So, that was my frustrating experience with Florida Restaurant and Lodging association; now on to Serve It Up Safe and Dave:


When I explained my situation to Dave via text message not only did he have a class that was available one month sooner, but I only had to pay the amount that I had received back from the other company!  I have to admit I was a bit nervous going into the class, but my nerves were quickly calmed and I sat back and soaked in all the material.  Dave's teaching strategies were so helpful that not only did I pass, but I received a score of 91%!  I cannot thank Dave and Serve It Up safe for taking a terrible, frustrating experience and turning it into a stress free learning experience.  I was beyond impressed and recommend them to anyone who is in need of their certificate!


Oh, yeah, and the book that I was not refunded for was not even the right material!  It was entry level!!
